S/V Sperrin

Sperrin is a 35' C&C Sloop built in 1970. She is reputed to be the first C&C in BC and graced the cover of the February 1970 issue of Pacific Yachting. Her first owner campaigned her very successfully on the West Coast racing circuit under her original name, Tangent II. He sailed her until 1999 when she moved to the second owner on Bowen Island. We purchased the boat in 2003 and have sailed her around the Gulf ever since.

We are both retired teachers and have been sailing since the early 70's. Ken caught the bug sailing Lasers in the Kootenays and we would beg, borrow or steal a cruiser for two months every summer to sail the "West Coast". Sailing the real "West Coast" of Vancouver Island has been an ambition for quite a while. We had a great adventure in the summer of '80 sailing on a friend's 37 foot sloop in the South Pacific. We welcome the opportunity to participate in this adventure with all the security and camaraderie that such a group venture promises.
